SCDOT Requests Public Comment on the 2024-2033 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program to include a Bridge Replacement in York County
Columbia, S.C. (May 22, 2025) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks public comment on the action to amend the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) to include a bridge replacement project in York County. SCDOT will receive public comment for the 21-day period from May 22, 2025 through June 12, 2025.
This project will include preliminary engineering, right of way, and construction work to replace the bridge on S-1474 (Smith Road) over Morris Branch in York County. The purpose of the project is to address the structural deficiencies of the existing bridge, which is closed to traffic. The estimated cost for preliminary engineering, right of way, and construction work is $2.4 million.
