Columbia, S.C. (October 9, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will temporarily close a portion of Fairmont Road in Richland County beginning Friday, October 16.
The closure of Fairmont Road between Leesburg Road and Elmtree Road will begin October 16 at 6 p.m. and end Monday, October 19, by 6 a.m., pending any weather delays.

The closure will allow SCDOT crews to realign Fairmont Road with Leesburg Road to improve safety at the intersection.
SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention when driving near the work zone.
