Columbia, S.C. (November 10, 2025) - SCDOT will hold a drop-in public information meeting to share information about a proposed second phase of improvements to SC 61 (Beech Hill Road) in Dorchester County.
SCDOT proposes to construct a 10-foot shared use path along a 3.3 mile section of SC 61 (Beech Hill Road) from S-163 (Summers Drive) to SC 165 (Bacons Bridge Road). The purpose of the project is to provide pedestrian connectivity and increased safety for non-motorized users within the surrounding community.
SCDOT will hold the drop-in-style meeting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025, in the auditorium at Ashley Ridge High School, 9800 Delemar Hwy., Summerville, SC 29485. Members of the public will be able to see project plans and speak with SCDOT representatives about the projects. There will not be a formal presentation.
