Columbia, S.C. (October 21, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will open a new flyover bridge at the I-26/I-95 Interchange Project in Orangeburg and Dorchester counties on Thursday, October 22.
The flyover bridge will connect I-95 southbound to I-26 eastbound. The new ramp will replace the loop that previously connected the two interstates. That loop will be permanently taken out of service and replaced by the flyover bridge.
A map of the new traffic pattern can be seen below.
To facilitate the traffic shift, lane closures will be active on I-26 and I-95 intermittently throughout the course of the operation.
SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
