Columbia, S.C. (October 29, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will implement a new traffic pattern on the U.S. Route 21 bridges over the Congaree Creek on Monday, November 2.

The southbound lanes of U.S. 21 will shift onto the newly built bridge while the two northbound lanes will remain in their current location.

The bridge construction is expected to be completed in late 2027.
