Columbia, S.C. (October 7, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will permanently close Harper Gault Road at Saluda Road (SC 72) beginning Monday, October 14.
Harper Gault Road will be disconnected from Saluda Road and a cul-de-sac will be installed. Drivers will still be able to access Harper Gault Road from Oakdale Road.
This work is a part of the York County Pennies for Progress project to widen Saluda Road.
SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to the new traffic pattern when driving through the area.
