SCDOT to hold public meeting about intersection improvement project in Edgefield County

Columbia, S.C. (February 18, 2026) - SCDOT will hold a public meeting to share information about a proposed intersection improvement project in Edgefield County.

SCDOT will hold the drop-in style meeting from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in the Cafeteria at Fox Creek High School, 165 Shortcut Rd, North Augusta, SC 29860. SCDOT representatives will be available to speak with attendees and answer questions about the proposed project.

The proposed improvements include a new signal, designated turn lanes, and realignment of Trailside Drive. The purpose of this project is to improve the operational efficiency at the intersection of US 25 at Shortcut Road/Trailside Drive. The project is needed because there are currently no designated turn lanes and Shortcut Road and Trailside Drive are misaligned, causing challenges for vehicles making turning movements.

SCDOT will accept public comments on this project through March 18, 2026. For more information, visit: projectportal.scdot.org/US25-shortcutroad.
