Columbia, S.C. (September 14, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will begin construction operations on Walhalla Highway (SC-183) in Pickens County on Monday, September 14.
The work will include daily lane closures which will begin on Monday, September 14 and continue through summer 2027. The work may also include milling, resurfacing, pavement repairs, shoulder work, guardrail, pavement markings and other related improvements.
The work will go from Walhalla Highway on the Pickens County Line to SC 137.
Drivers should expect delays in these areas.
SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention when driving near the work zone.
