SCDOT seeks input on projects to improve mobility for pedestrians and bicyclists in two Charleston County towns

Columbia, S.C. (June 22, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks public input on two proposed projects that would improve walking and bicycling options in two Charleston County towns.

SC 165 Sidewalk Extension in the Town of Ravenel

A proposed project in the Town of Ravenel would add to the existing five-foot wide sidewalk on the east side of SC Hwy. 165, extending it south from Charleston County St. Paul's Service Center to Martin Street. SCDOT will accept comments on this project until July 22, 2026. Visit the project website to learn about the project and share your input in one of the following ways.

SC 165 Bike and Pedestrian Improvements in the Town of Hollywood

A new, 10-foot-wide concrete mixed-use path for bicycling and walking is proposed in the Town of Hollywood. The path would be built along the east side of SC 165, starting near St. Paul's Hollywood Library and ending at Ball Park Road. SCDOT will accept comments on this project until July 22, 2026.
