Columbia, S.C. (October 10, 2025) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation requests comments from the public on proposed plans to replace six bridges in Darlington, Georgetown, Horry, Marion and Williamsburg counties:
- S-495 (Georgetown Road) over Back Swamp in Darlington County
- S-31 (Mount Zion Avenue) over Lane Creek in Georgetown County
- S-24 (Powell Road) over Pole Swamp in Georgetown County
- S-569 (Good Luck Road) over Lousing Swamp in Horry County
- S-32 (Grady Road) over Reedy Creek in Marion County
- S-30 (Sims Reach Road) over Black River in Williamsburg County
The proposed bridge replacements are planned as part of SCDOT's Closed and Load Restricted Bridge (CLRB) Program, an initiative to address bridges that have weight restrictions in place or have been closed to traffic. All comments received during a project comment period will be reviewed and included in the project record. Individuals who provide comments will receive responses upon request.
