Columbia, S.C. (February 18, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation requests comments on the proposed replacement of the bridge on S-9 (Cypress Gardens Road) over Canterhill Swamp in Berkeley County.
The purpose of the project is to correct structural deficiencies of the existing bridge. SCDOT would replace the existing bridge structure and construct the roadway to meet current design and safety standards.

SCDOT encourages members of the public to review the project website and provide questions or comments about potential impacts of the project.
