Columbia, S.C. (April 21, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation proposes bridge repair, rehabilitation, and preservation services for the bridge on US 29 (Old Georgia Hwy.) over Little Thicketty Creek in Cherokee County.
The proposed project will address identified structural deficiencies and extend the service life of the bridge. Construction will begin this summer and will last for approximately 90 days. During construction, there will be one closure and detour lasting for three days. SCDOT will announce construction and closure dates to the public in advance.
