UPDATE: SCDOT to Implement New Traffic Pattern at Florence County Intersection

Columbia, S.C. (July 14, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will implement a new, permanent traffic pattern at the intersection of Paper Mill and East National Cemetery Roads in Florence County beginning Friday, July 17.

Over the past month, crews have graded and reshaped the roadway in preparation for the new traffic pattern. They have also realigned the intersection to improve safety and traffic flow for drivers.

Traffic barrels and other traffic control devices will be in place to help guide drivers safely through the new traffic pattern.

In addition, a new stop sign will be installed on East National Cemetery Road for traffic approaching US-76.

SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
