SCDOT to temporarily close, detour loop ramps at I-26/I-95 Interchange Project in Orangeburg, Dorchester counties

Columbia, S.C. (September 14, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will temporarily close and detour the I-26 eastbound loop to I-95 northbound and the I-95 southbound loop ramp to I-26 eastbound beginning the night of Monday, September 14.

Both loop ramps will be closed starting September 14 at 7 p.m. and reopen September 17 by 9 a.m.

The traffic shift operation will involve shifting I-26 eastbound to I-95 northbound ramp traffic from its current location to a newly constructed ramp in the immediate vicinity. Lane closures will be active on I-26 and I-95 intermittently throughout the course of the operation.

Traffic will be detoured for this project and a map of the detours is below.
