SCDOT to Shift Traffic on US 15 in Sumter County

Columbia, S.C. (June 19, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will shift traffic on US 15 in Sumter County beginning Tuesday, June 23.

Crews will shift traffic from the US 15 southbound bridge over the Pocotaligo River to the northbound bridge. This traffic shift will allow the northbound bridge to carry one lane of traffic in each direction, maintaining access for both northbound and southbound drivers along US 15.

The SCDOT is replacing the southbound bridge to correct structural deficiencies to meet current design standards. More information about the project can be found here.

SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
