SCDOT to Shift Traffic on McIver Road in Darlington County

Columbia, S.C. (June 22, 2026) — The South Carolina Department of Transportation will shift traffic on McIver Road in Darlington County beginning Tuesday, June 23.

At approximately noon tomorrow, crews will shift traffic on McIver Road to the new alignment on McIver Road as construction continues on the new intersection roundabout.

As drivers on McIver Road approach the intersection of Old Florence Road, they will notice SCDOT traffic signs, directing them to the new traffic pattern.

Due to the traffic shift, the speed limit will reduce from 45 mph per hour to 25 mph at this intersection.

This will also be the new permanent speed limit for the new roundabout project which should be completed by Fall 2026.

SCDOT asks drivers to slow down, stay alert, and pay attention to crews and signs in the area.
