SCDOT to repair Sand Bar Ferry Road bridge over Savannah River in Aiken County

Columbia, S.C. (January 5, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will repair the Sand Bar Ferry Road bridge over Savannah River in Aiken County beginning the week of January 12.

One westbound lane over the bridge will be closed and westbound traffic will merge into one lane to conduct repairs. Signage will be displayed at the site indicating the lane closure. A map of the bridge location is below.

SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
