The South Carolina Department of Transportation will intermittently and briefly close the Folly Road Bridge on SC 171 over Wappoo Cut to perform a routine bridge inspection overnight on Monday, March 9. The closures will take place overnight between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday, March 9 into the early morning of Tuesday, March 10. These closures should last no more than 10 minutes at a time, but could cause delays to drivers traveling this route overnight.
We encourage drivers to use the James Island Connector, SC 30, as an alternate route overnight on Monday. Drivers on Folly Road in this area can expect some delays overnight while this inspection work is performed. In the event of inclement weather, this work will be shifted to begin on Tuesday overnight.
SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
