SCDOT to Implement Traffic Change at John Nunn Highway and Salley Road Intersection in Orangeburg County

Columbia, S.C. (July 7, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will convert the John Nunn Highway / Ninety-Six Road (SC-389) and Salley Road (SC-394) intersection from a two-way stop to a temporary four-way stop in Orangeburg County beginning Monday, July 13.

New signage will be installed to alert drivers of the traffic change.  During the transition, SCDOT crews will conduct flagging operations to safely guide drivers through the intersection.

The temporary traffic conversion is expected to remain in place for several months as crews prepare for the construction of a roundabout designed to improve safety and enhance traffic flow through the intersection.

Construction of the roundabout is expected to be completed next year.

SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to crews when driving through the area.
