SCDOT to host ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Church Street Bridge Rehabilitation Project in Greenville County

Columbia, S.C. (June 9, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the rehabilitation project and reopening of the Church Street (U.S. 29) bridge in Greenville County.

The ceremony will take place on Monday June 15, at 10:30 a.m. on the newly constructed bridge deck.

State representatives and local partners will join SCDOT Deputy Secretary for Engineering Rob Perry in commemorating the bridge reopening.

The bridge was closed in early May 2026 to begin a multi-phase improvement project that included resurfacing and paving, upgraded pedestrian safety features such as sidewalk replacements and barrier improvements, enhanced overhead lighting, and the construction of a new stairway connecting to McBee Street.
