Columbia, S.C. (April 21, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will hold its annual Workers Memorial ceremony on Tuesday, April 28, to honor the men and women who have given their lives in service to SCDOT and the state of South Carolina.
The SCDOT Workers Memorial ceremony will take place at SCDOT Headquarters at 10 a.m.
Secretary of Transportation Justin Powell and other SCDOT officials are scheduled to speak. The ceremony honors SCDOT employees, dating back to the 1920s, killed while working on the highways as well as those who died on the job from natural causes.
The ceremony will be streamed online at scdot.org and on the SCDOT Facebook page.
