Columbia, S.C. (February 3, 2026) – The South Carolina Department of Transportation will hold a drop-in public about Phase 3C of the Carolina Crossroads Project on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the DoubleTree, 2100 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29210.
SCDOT's multiphase Carolina Crossroads project is designed to reconfigure and improve the I-20/I-26/I-126 interchanges and surrounding 14 miles of Interstate corridor in Lexington and Richland counties.
This drop-in style event on Tuesday, February 17 will provide the public with an opportunity to review design plans and learn about anticipated traffic impacts during construction of Phase 3C. Members of the project team will be available throughout the event to answer questions and discuss the project one-on-one with attendees.
Carolina Crossroads Project Phase 3C includes the replacement of the I-20 bridges over the Saluda River and the CSX railroad. Phase 3C includes widening a portion of I-20, between US 378 (Sunset Boulevard) and Bush River Road, to accommodate future lane additions in upcoming phases of the project.
Phase 3C will prepare the corridor for seamless connection to future phase work and provide new bridges that meet current design standards. Construction work will begin in early 2026 and is expected to be completed in 2029.
