The South Carolina Department of Transportation will temporarily close a lane on Interstate 20 beneath the US 321 (Fairfield Road) bridge in Richland County beginning later this evening to allow crews to perform bridge repairs.
Crews will close the far-right lane and the exit lane for Exit 70 on Interstate 20 from 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, until 5 a.m. Thursday, August 6. The closures are needed to provide access for crews repairing the concrete bridge beams on the US 321 bridge above I-20.
Crews will have closure signs and other traffic control devices in place to alert drivers.
Detours have been established and are highlighted in green on the map below.
SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
