Columbia, S.C. (June 17, 2026) — The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will begin an intersection improvement project at Eastland Avenue (S-186) in Williamsburg County on June 22.
The project will improve the intersection at Eastland Avenue and US 52 by realigning and flattening the existing curve, creating longer turn and through lanes to enhance traffic flow and improve overall roadway efficiency.
A detour route has been established as shown in green on the below map.
Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by October 2026.
SCDOT asks drivers to slow down, stay alert, and pay attention to crews and signs in the area.
