Columbia, S.C. (May 6, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will close the northbound lanes of US 301 over Cooper Swamp in Orangeburg County for bridge repair on May 12.
The northbound lane closure on US 301/Bamberg Road is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and will continue for several weeks. The southbound lanes will remain open.
Detours have also been established and are shown in the below map. Digital message boards will be posted to assist motorists.
SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
