Columbia, S.C. (July 30, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will close the Meadow Prong Road (S-55) bridge over Long Branch for repairs in Florence County on Monday, August 3, 2026.
The temporary closure will allow crews to install new piles for the bridge foundation.
The closure is expected to remain in effect until early October, weather permitting.
Detours have been established and are highlighted in green on the map below.
SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
