SCDOT to begin replacement of Carter Road bridge over Ninety-Six Creek in Greenwood County

Columbia, S.C. (April 30, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will begin work to replace the bridge on Carter Road over Ninety-Six Creek in Greenwood County on May 4.

Carter Road will be open to local traffic only, except at the bridge site.

The bridge is expected to reopen in the summer of 2027.

SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
