Columbia, S.C. (July 20, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation has closed the Canady Branch Road Bridge (S-8-361) in Berkeley County for repairs.
The closure was implemented out of an abundance of caution following heavy rains that caused additional settlement of the bridge. A full inspection of the bridge is currently underway and SCDOT intends to share a repair plan following the inspection.
A detour has been established and is highlighted in green on the map below.
SCDOT will provide updates on the bridge reopening.
SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
