SC Transportation Secretary and President Trump's Top Highway Official to Visit Carolina Crossroads Project

Columbia, S.C. (August 24, 2026) - Members of the media are invited to hear from SCDOT Secretary Justin Powell and Federal Highway Administrator Sean McMaster for a project update on the Carolina Crossroads Project on Wednesday, August 26, at 11 a.m.

The Carolina Crossroads Project continues to move forward, with construction now underway on Phase 3C, the I-20 widening and bridge replacement portion of the project. Phase 3C focuses on replacing the I-20 bridges over the Saluda River and CSX railroad and widening I-20 between US 378 (Sunset Boulevard) and Bush River Road to prepare for future improvements.

The broader Carolina Crossroads Project will ultimately reconfigure approximately 14 miles of the I-20/I-26/I-126 corridor, improving safety, reducing congestion and modernizing critical corridors throughout the Midlands.
