SCDOT to Implement New Traffic Pattern at Richburg Intersection in Chester County

Columbia, S.C. (July 13, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will implement a new traffic pattern at the intersection of South Main Street (SC-901) and Old Richburg Road (S-56) in Chester County beginning Monday, July 20.

SCDOT crews will convert the intersection to an all-way stop, requiring drivers traveling in all directions to come to a complete stop before proceeding.

The project is designed to improve traffic flow, reduce speeding, and enhance safety by decreasing the potential for severe and fatal crashes.

SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to crews when driving through the area.
