Columbia, S.C. (June 17, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will close Parris Bridge Road (S-42-43) over the Pacolet River in Spartanburg County for rehabilitation work beginning June 23.
Crews will repair the existing bridge deck and apply protective layers to preserve the structure, extend its service life, and improve safety for drivers.
Weather dependent, the road is expected to reopen by the end of July.
Detour routes have been established and are shown in green on the map below, while the route highlighted in yellow is designated for local traffic only.
SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
