Columbia, S.C. (June 20, 2025)— The South Carolina Department of Transportation will temporarily close the Southbound US 17 bridge over the Ashley River in Charleston County beginning June 22. This closure will allow crews to survey under the bridge.
The closure is expected to start at 6:30 a.m. and last until 8:30 a.m.
Drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes, if possible. A map of the affected area can be found below.
SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention when driving near the work zone. Drivers are encouraged to plan their route ahead with the 511SC App or at 511sc.org.
