Columbia, S.C. (December 23, 2025) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will replace the Veterans Road bridges over South Edisto River in Aiken County beginning early January 2026. The project involves demolition and reconstruction of two bridges at this location.
The bridges are expected to be completed by summer 2027.
As part of this closure a detour route has been set up. A map of the detour can be found below.
SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
