SCDOT to continue sidewalk and curb work in downtown Charleston

Columbia, S.C. (June 20, 2025) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will continue concrete repairs and resurfacing on sidewalks and curbs in the downtown Charleston area in Charleston County.

This work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. A list of roadways and the days work will take place can be found below.

  • Morris Street from Rutledge Avenue to King Street from June 19 to June 24
  • Ashley Avenue from Bee Street to Beaufain Street from June 23 to July 2
  • Ashley Boulevard from Broad Street to Murray Avenue from June 23 to July 2

Traffic will be maintained during this work. However, sidewalk access will be limited and detoured at times. Street parking may be limited and prohibited at times.

SCDOT encourages drivers to seek alternate routes, if possible and asks drivers to slow down and pay attention to crews and signs when driving near work zone.
