Columbia, S.C. (October 16, 2025) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will conduct temporary, nighttime lane closures on SC 544 over the Intracoastal Waterway in Horry County beginning October 19. These lane closures are expected to last until the end of the month and will allow crews to perform bridge maintenance activities.
Lane closures will be implemented at 7 p.m. nightly (Sunday through Thursday) and will be picked up by 6 a.m. the following morning. A map of the affected area can be found below.
Drivers should seek alternate routes, if possible and expect delays. SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention when driving near a work zone.
