Columbia, S.C. (December 3, 2025) - The SCDOT will temporarily close the I-26 exit ramps off of I-85 in Spartanburg County for nighttime pavement repairs starting December 7 until December 12.
These closures will take place nightly beginning December 7 at 8 p.m. and will be picked up at 6 a.m. the following morning. The I-85 Northbound and Southbound right lanes will also be closed along with the nighttime ramp closures and be reopened during the day.
Drivers are encouraged to use Business I-85 to access I-26. Travelers that do not use Business I-85 prior to the closure will be guided to Exit 72 (US-176) in the Northbound direction and Exit 68 (SC-129) in the Southbound direction to get back to I-26 via Business I-85.
Lane closure and detour signs will be placed along the routes to inform drivers of the detour and temporary traffic pattern.
SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention when driving near the work zone.
