SCDOT to close part of Maranda Holmes Street in Charleston County for road work

Columbia, S.C. (July 30, 2025) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will close part of Maranda Holmes Street from Congress Street to Sumter Street in Charleston County for road repairs beginning Friday, August 1, at 7 a.m. This closure will allow crews to conduct paving activities.

The road is expected to be reopened Friday evening. As part of this closure, traffic will be detoured using President Street.

On-street parking will be prohibited during the hours listed above. Towing will be enforced.

SCDOT encourages drivers to seek alternate routes, if possible and asks drivers to slow down and pay attention to crews and signs when driving through a work zone.
