Columbia, S.C. (October 16, 2025) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will close and detour Senator Gasque Road over Maidendown Swamp in Marion County for a bridge replacement project beginning October 23. Work is expected to last until Fall of 2026.
As part of this closure, a detour route will be set up. A map of the closure and detour can be found below. Please note that Senator Gasque Road will be open to local traffic only except at the bridge site.
SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention when driving near a work zone.
