SCDOT to close and detour part of Ashmore Bridge Road in Greenville County for emergency repairs

Columbia, S.C. (July 2, 2025)— The South Carolina Department of Transportation will close and detour part of Ashmore Bridge Road in Greenville County for emergency repairs beginning July 3.

SCDOT is expediting these repairs in order to reopen the bridge. More information on a timeline will be shared as it becomes available.

As part of this closure, a detour route will be set up. A map of the closure and detour along with directions, can be found below. Please note that Ashmore Bridge Road will be open to local traffic only, except at the bridge site.

SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention when driving near a work zone.

DETOUR

Eastbound Ashmore Bridge Road: Drivers traveling Eastbound on Ashmore Bridge Road will turn North on Fork Shoals Road, then East on Conestee Road, then East on West Butler Road, then South on Ashmore Bridge Road.

Westbound Ashmore Bridge Road: Drivers traveling Westbound on Ashmore Bridge Road will turn on West Butler Road, then West on Conestee Road, then South on Fork Shoals Road, then East on Ashmore Bridge Road.
