SCDOT to close and detour Cherokee Blvd, Flat Rock Rd, Mill Creek Rd bridges in Kershaw County for repairs

Columbia, S.C. (December 22, 2025) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will close and detour the following bridges for repairs beginning January 5:

  • Cherokee Blvd bridge over Twenty-Five Mile Creek
  • Flat Rock Road bridge over Little Flat Rock Creek
  • Mill Creek Road bridge over Little Lynches River

Each road is expected to reopen by January 16. These dates may change depending on weather conditions.

As part of these closures, detour route have been set up. Maps of the detours can be found below. Please note that each road will be open to local traffic only, except at the bridge sites.

SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
