Columbia, S.C. (February 25, 2025) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will expedite the replacement of pipe and culvert structures that were damaged beyond repair during November 2024 storms. Construction and repair projects planned for six roads in Bamberg, Calhoun and Orangeburg counties will replace these bridge-like structures. Upon completion, SCDOT will reopen the roads to vehicular traffic.
Construction will take place this spring at the following locations:
Bamberg County
S-458 (Indian Camp Road) over Indian Camp Creek
Calhoun County
S-22 (Burke Road) over Caw Caw Swamp
Orangeburg County
S-39 (Cannon Bridge Road) over Cooper Swamp
S-191 (Middle Willow Road) over Reedy River
S-634 (Deer Trail Road) over Cooper Swamp
S-1210 (Buffalo Pond Road) over Tampa Creek
