Columbia, S.C. (August 8, 2025) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation is announcing that I-85 in Spartanburg and Cherokee counties is in its final traffic configuration with all three lanes open in each direction.
Crews will continue to work on the driving surface of the newly opened inside lanes. Drivers can expect overnight closures for final paving activities in the coming weeks. These closures will be displayed on digital message boards throughout the project.
SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving near work zones.
