SCDOT Requests Public Comment on the 2021-2027 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program to Include a Feasibility Study for the East Coast Greenway in the Grand Strand, Charleston, and Lowcountry

The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks public comment on the action to amend the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program to include the preliminary engineering, and planning phases of work for a feasibility study for the East Coast Greenway in the Grand Strand, Charleston, and Lowcountry regions. SCDOT will receive public comment for a 21-day period from July 18, 2024 through August 8, 2024.

The proposed project intends to develop a preferred alignment for the state’s East Coast Greenway, provide project recommendations, and identify priority segments per region. The proposed project is intended to reduce roadway congestion, provide safety benefits, and provide connectivity for all users. The total project cost is $3,500,000.
