Columbia, S.C. (May 23, 2024) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will temporarily close part of McDowell Shortcut Road in Horry County beginning June 6 to perform work related to the McDowell Shortcut and Tournament Boulevard Intersection Improvement Project.
This closure is anticipated to last until July. As part of the closure, traffic will be detoured using Tournament Boulevard, SC 707 and McDowell Shortcut Road. Please note that McDowell Shortcut Road will be open to local traffic only except for the area of the closure which is marked in red below.
