The South Carolina Department of Transportation has fully opened a section of the Hardscrabble Road Project from Marchbank Parkway to Kelly Mill Road. This section is approximately 2.3 miles of the project and the improvements include a new widened four-lane roadway with a two-way turn lane, new drainage under the roadway and a safe, smooth driving surface. New traffic signals were installed at the intersections at Lake Carolina and Kelly Mill Road.
The project improves approximately 8 miles of Hardscrabble Road. At this time, crews are on track to complete the project by Spring of 2025. SCDOT will continue to release updates on the Hardscrabble Road Project as they become available.
We encourage drivers to drive slowly and pay attention when driving through work zones. You can plan your drive ahead of time by using SCDOT's 511 SC app or by visiting http://www.511sc.org/ .
SCDOT remains committed to delivering this project and improving transportation throughout this area.
Crews removed traffic barrels and cleared debris from Hardscrabble Road today as a new 2.3 mile section, between Marchbank Parkway and Kelly Mill Road, was opened to traffic.
