SCDOT to hold public involvement meeting in Marion County

​Columbia, S.C. (March 6, 2024) - SCDOT will hold a drop in public involvement meeting on Thursday, March 21, 2024 regarding a proposed bridge replacement over Catfish Branch in Marion County.

The meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024. The meeting will take place at Johnakin Middle School located at 601 Gurley Street, Marion SC 29571.  SCDOT representatives will be available at the meeting to discuss the proposed project with members of the community.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation proposes to replace the US 176 (W Liberty Street) bridge over Catfish Branch. The bridge is situated along the portion of US 76 (W Liberty Street) between S Canal Road to the east and SC-576 to the west. The existing bridge will be replaced with a new bridge that will accommodate four 12- foot lanes and two 6-foot shoulders. Visit the project website for additional information.
