Columbia, S.C. (November 1, 2023) - Officials at SCDOT have a project underway to replace the gates on the Lady’s Island (Woods Memorial) Bridge in Beaufort, South Carolina. In addition to the installation of new gates, the project includes adding traffic monitoring cameras to help improve the flow of traffic across the bridge.
Currently, the project is in the design phase and the new gates will be custom made for the bridge. The additional cameras are being installed this month, and the full project is expected to be complete ahead of the 2024 summer travel season.
