Columbia, S.C. (September 22, 2023) – A portion of Arrowwood Road in Richland County will remain closed through late 2023 for construction of a retaining wall and bridge foundations as part of the Carolina Crossroads project. Continuing the Arrowwood Road closure will allow for construction of these large and complex structures. In keeping with SCDOT’s top priority of safety, the road closure will also ensure the construction zone is a safe distance from the motoring public.
The Arrowwood Road closure is located between Lawand Drive and Gracern Road. Motorists are advised to follow all detour signs to avoid the construction zone and, when possible, take alternate routes during the closure.
These construction activities are part of the Carolina Crossroads Phase 1 project in Richland and Lexington Counties. The project includes improvements to the exit ramp to U.S. 378 from I-26 eastbound and associated interstate widening, construction of a full access interchange at I-126 and Colonial Life Boulevard, and the related closure of the I-26 interchange at Bush River Road.
