Pickens, S.C. (September 15, 2023) – SCDOT will close New Hope Road (S-39-113) in Pickens for repairs starting Monday, Sept. 18. A signed detour will be in place throughout the repair work, which will replace a pipe under the road.
Detour Route from S.C. 8 (Pumpkintown Highway): Motorists traveling on S.C. 8 will be detoured to go North for 3.18 miles to S.C. 11 and turn left onto S.C. 11 (Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway). Motorists will then follow S.C. 11 (Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway) for 2.71 miles back to New Hope Road.
Detour Route from S.C. 11 (Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway): Motorists traveling S.C. 11 (Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway) will be detoured North to S.C. 8 (Pumpkintown Highway) and turn right onto SC 8. Follow SC 8 (Pumpkintown Highway) for 3.18 Miles Back to New Hope Road on the right.
