Columbia, S.C. (May 15, 2023) – A section of Arrowwood Road, from the intersection of Lawand Drive to the intersection of Gracern Road, will be closed starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, May 22 to allow for utility work and bridge construction. Arrowwood Road is expected to reopen by Monday, August 14 at 7 a.m.
A signed detour route using Colonial Life Boulevard and Bush River Road will be posted during the closure. Motorists are encouraged to plan their detour routes in advance and to drive safely around road work zones.
Closure and Detour Information
When: Monday, May 22 at 7 a.m. through Monday, August 13 at 7 a.m.
Where: Arrowwood Road, between Lawand Drive and Gracern Road
This closure is scheduled to allow for construction work as a part of the Carolina Crossroads Phase 1 project in Richland and Lexington Counties. The project includes improvements to the exit ramp to U.S. 378 from I-26 eastbound and associated interstate widening in Lexington County and a full access interchange at Colonial Life Boulevard at I-126 in Richland County. The purpose of this project is to provide traffic access to and from I-26 and I-126 to Colonial Life Blvd., allowing for closure of the existing on and off ramps that access I-26 from Bush River Road.
